My photography journey started in the late 1990’s when I bought a film ‘point and shoot’ camera and realised in three weeks it was holding me back, I wanted to do long exposure night shots of the city and the river, and the camera was not able.
Shooting motor sport in the mid 2000’s and then following the Drift Australia national series around Australia for three years, I photographed for FastFours and Hot 4’s magazines, providing event coverage. I enjoyed capturing a mixture of the cars on track, the people in the crowds and behind the scene and the stories behind the drivers. This led me into people photography, mainly candids, and some product photography for the various sponsors of the sport, photographing clutches, suspension and other products.
Contracting to an event company doing set-up studio shoots for school formals, I started to enjoy capturing people in their element and getting them comfortable in front of the lens as quickly as I could.
I photographed the Brighton Jetty Classic for seven years running, and was tasked to capture the vibe, heart and pulse of their event.
Combining all of these skills has made me a competent, reliable event photographer, able to quickly capture the action, but also with an eye for detail.
Lastly I teach you how to use your own camera, in plain simple to understand English, you can find all the information at No Green Square
